This is an unusual opportunity for a personal tax and trust specialist to move in-house and join the Cheadle Hulme office of a trust and management services company. It's a great role - weighted towards advisory work with some tax compliance. Helping with estate planning, IHT, CGT, personal tax. Also forensic work when helping with client's tax enquiries. I think it's the closest thing to working in a Family Office so would suit someone working in an accountancy firm who wants something a bit different. This is a new position situated alongside a multi disciplined team in the Cheadle Hulme office (3 miles from Manchester Airport). Basically you will bring tax in-house. The candidate must be CTA qualified and have at least 5 years' post qualification experience, the client would also consider someone STEP qualified or lawyer with relevant experience (including the ability to complete a trust return). The ideal candidate will be a commercially aware and business minded individual who has tax experience with trust and corporate structures both in the UK and internationally. We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated and a self starter with excellent inter personal skills to liaise with colleagues and clients directly.
Our client is looking for somebody who is well organised who has experience in providing a full range of tax advisory services and establishing and maintaining close client relationships. The candidate should be an excellent communicator in a range of situations and be a competent report writer.
The role will involve travelling to client and intermediary meetings in the UK. The candidate will be expected to support the New Business Team with appropriate advice, material and news items, assist when relevant with the preparation of trust and company documentation and produce technical briefings and tax reports on request.
Summary of Responsibilities include;
Providing advice on accounting and taxation to new and existing clients. Specific areas include;
o IHT and estate planning
o Knowledge and advising on statutory reliefs such as Incorporation and holdover relief
o Forensic tax work around RTC and HMRC Enquiries
o HMRC Clearances
o Share structuring
o Family trust taxation
o Personal/company/trust tax returns
This role would suit someone with a strong trust and personal tax background. This appointment is likely to be at senior manager or director level but experienced managers will also be considered. Salary in the range £65,000 to £90,000 + pension and healthcare (salary level dependent on experience and qualifications). Would consider mix of office and homeworking.
