Hays is proud to be partnered with a long-standing and reputable, independent firm of Chartered Accountants in order to recruit for a Personal Tax Senior or Personal Tax Supervisor. Multi-award winning with over 100 staff and various service lines, the firm offers its employees diverse client portfolios and a great working culture. Due to recent growth across Scotland, the firm would like to make an addition to their Personal Tax Team in Edinburgh.
Your new role
You will have responsibility for an enviable portfolio of high net worth individuals, estates, partnerships, sole traders and trusts. You will manage the compliance work including involvement in tax planning. This will include income tax preparation, capital gains tax computations, partnership tax returns, and reviewing more junior colleagues. In addition to this: as a Senior, you will draft letters to clients, HMRC and third parties; or as a Supervisor, you will monitor budgets, prepare fees, supervise team members, coach and develop staff, and undertake more complex advisory work.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven track record within a Chartered Accountancy Firm with particular knowledge and experience within tax. You will exhibit technical competence across personal tax with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be a team player, motivated, and ideally ATT or CTA qualified. You will demonstrate commercial acumen, and a working knowledge of CCH Personal Tax will enhance your application but is not essential.
