Following success and expansion in their client-facing tax advisory team, a Silver Circle law firm are looking for a specialist to lead the Employment Tax efforts of their burgeoning remuneration practice, supporting the wider Employment team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Manager or Director primarily experienced in Employment Tax and with the expertise to handle Global Mobility issues, likely within a Big 4 firm, looking to take on a challenge in a legal environment.
The specialist will be responsible for providing employment tax advice to clients of the firm, including:
• Employment status
• Expenses and benefits
• Treatment of loans to employees
• Termination payments
• Salary sacrifice
• Payroll and reporting
• Disguised remuneration rules
• Mobile executives (executives moving between jurisdictions, short term business travellers, relying on double tax treaties, overseas workday relief)
• Tax treatment of individual members of trading (non-investment management) LLPs and partnerships including salaried member rules, self-employed disguised remuneration, mixed member rules and FCA deferral rules
Ideally, you will be CTA/ACA qualified, or a qualified solicitor. An ability to tackle ad-hoc advisory pieces covering topics such as remuneration would be a big plus. This is a heavily client-focused role, so strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as an ability to network and grow the firm's client base.
