Our client, a leading regional firm of chartered accountants, are currently growing their tax team and are hence looking for a Tax Technician. This role is ideal for someone with some tax experience in practice who is looking to progress their career in a role offering genuine career development within a thriving tax team
The Role
Working within the private client tax department in the provision of high quality compliance services for a range of private clients including high net worth individuals, directors of small and medium sized companies and Trustees.
Main Duties for a Tax Technician:
● Preparation of draft self-assessment tax returns including capital gains computations and preparation of statements of income from property.
● Load tax return information on Digita to produce returns and calculations.
● Preparing schedules and supporting information for tax returns
● Drafting correspondence with clients to remind them of outstanding information required and reminding them of potential penalty/interest surcharge implications because of late filings
● Ensuring that all client files are kept up to date with relevant documentation
● Preparing engagement letters and client acceptance information
● Assisting with ad hoc matters such as research, as requested by the Tax Manager
Candidate requirements:
● ATT Qualified or studying with a view to study CTA (full study support provided)
● Able to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
● Well organised and client focused
● Flexible working attitude. Must be able to work on several clients’ affairs at the same time and be prepared to work overtime as necessary during busy periods.
