About the Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services business for a Senior Manager to strengthen its tax compliance and managed services function. The team supports large multinational and financial services clients with their global tax, statutory accounting and reporting obligations, using a mix of outsourcing, co-sourcing and technology-led delivery models.
This part of the business has been expanding steadily, bringing on new clients and building out its capability across several specialist areas. You'd be joining a wider international network of tax specialists and delivery hubs, with plenty of scope to get involved in cross-border work. The client portfolio ranges from mid-sized businesses through to major listed groups, spanning public sector, real estate and financial services, so no two projects look the same.
Flexible working is genuinely on the table here, adjusted hours, compressed days and similar arrangements can all be discussed at interview stage.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of delivery for sizeable UK and international tax/accounting compliance projects, managing them end to end
* Roll out managed service and transformation initiatives and support their adoption across client teams
* Oversee technology deployments that underpin compliance and reporting workstreams
* Serve as the main point of contact for overseas clients and international colleagues, resolving issues and keeping governance on track
* Support commercial growth, helping convert opportunities into signed engagements, including contract terms
* Spot and shape transformation opportunities, from redesigning processes to building out centres of excellence
* Help evolve the team's service offering and how it's delivered
* Develop and sustain strong client relationships, both new and existing
* Manage more junior team members and coordinate offshore resourcing on client work
* Identify cross-sell opportunities and bring in the right specialists
* Mentor and support colleagues on technical matters
What We're Looking For
* A track record of managing large-scale, multi-jurisdictional compliance or transformation projects
* Experience designing or improving processes, risk frameworks and controls
* Comfort leading through change, transition and stakeholder management
* Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
* A good grasp of how technology and automation can improve efficiency and reduce risk
* A resilient, self-motivated approach, particularly when under pressure
* Sound analytical thinking, able to get to the root of a problem and weigh up the options
* Hands-on experience with tax or accounting compliance work (direct/indirect tax, statutory accounts, transfer pricing or tax reporting)
We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with strong expertise in any of the following:
* Tax and/or accounting compliance and reporting
* VAT compliance and process management
* Transfer pricing compliance and advisory
Both qualified-by-experience candidates and those holding ATT, CTA, ACA or equivalent are welcome to apply, as are candidates with project management credentials or transformation-focused qualifications.
Why Consider This Role
A genuinely varied client base, real investment in the team's growth, flexible working that's actually offered rather than just advertised, and clear routes to progress your career within a well-resourced, technology-driven tax function. The role is available in multi locations in the UK
