A leading professional services firm is looking to appoint a Director into its Private Tax team in London, advising entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses, PE-backed and AIM-listed companies, family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and high-profile professional partnerships.
About the Team
The team acts as trusted adviser across a broad range of tax advisory work, including tax-efficient value extraction, business reorganisations, international tax planning, transaction support and ongoing structural maintenance for clients. It brings together specialists in both corporate and personal tax, working closely with business owners and senior management. Services span compliance, advice on residence and domicile (including the FIG regime), transaction and reorganisation support, wealth optimisation, and estate and succession planning , with a strong cross-border dimension thanks to a well-connected international network. The client base includes both UK-domiciled and internationally-based individuals.
The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious, client-focused Director to join a growing Private Tax practice at a genuinely exciting time. You'll work with an excellent existing client base while playing an active role in expanding the team's network and winning new business, as the firm continues to invest significantly in this area.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships
* Proactively identify and convert new business opportunities
* Lead delivery of complex, high-value advisory projects, balancing technical rigour with commercial pragmatism
* Support the development of junior team members through coaching, supervision and mentoring
* Contribute to broader people initiatives, including team growth and retention
What You'll Bring
* ACA, CTA, Tax Inspector training, a legal qualification, or equivalent depth of tax expertise
* Strong technical tax knowledge
* A track record in business development and winning new work
* Experience coaching and developing junior colleagues
* Ideally, strong project management skills and a pragmatic, creative approach to problem-solving
* Familiarity advising a range of client types, potentially including AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned or owner-managed businesses
