About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to join a growing and highly regarded professional services firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional to lead complex compliance and advisory projects, manage key client relationships, and play an active role in the continued growth of the tax practice.

The successful candidate will work with a broad portfolio of clients ranging from entrepreneurial businesses and privately owned companies through to large corporate groups, providing strategic tax advice and technical leadership across a wide range of matters.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the corporate tax compliance function for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring high standards of technical quality, risk management and client service.
* Oversee corporation tax reporting, compliance processes and governance requirements across a range of businesses.
* Advise clients on corporate reorganisations, business restructurings, refinancing projects and exit transactions.
* Support transactional work including due diligence, tax structuring and obtaining HMRC clearances where required.
* Manage complex HMRC enquiries, compliance checks and investigations, developing robust technical positions and achieving successful outcomes.
* Provide specialist advice on R&D tax relief, capital allowances, share schemes, EIS/SEIS and other corporate tax matters.
* Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, business owners, finance leaders and Boards.
* Collaborate with colleagues across accounting, audit, VAT and other specialist teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
* Contribute to business development activities, identifying opportunities for growth and supporting the generation of new fee income.
* Lead, mentor and develop members of the tax team, supporting career progression and fostering a high-performance culture.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

* Significant corporate tax experience gained within a professional services environment.
* Strong expertise in corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting.
* Experience managing large and complex client portfolios, including corporate groups.
* A proven track record of delivering both compliance and advisory work.
* Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of UK corporate tax matters.
* Experience dealing directly with HMRC and managing tax enquiries.
* Excellent commercial awareness and relationship management skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
* CTA and/or ACCA qualification.
