A leading global professional services firm is continuing to invest heavily in its Tax Reporting and Compliance offering and is seeking an experienced Director to support the next phase of growth within this strategically critical area.

This role sits within a large and well established team, comprising several hundred professionals globally and a sizeable UK team focused on tax compliance, tax reporting, statutory accounting, and audit support. The UK team works closely with international colleagues but retains clear ownership of the UK delivery for multinational and inbound groups.

This is a genuine growth hire driven by sustained client demand and continued success in winning new mandates, with the team securing a significant proportion of competitive tenders. The service line is one of the firm's key global investment priorities and continues to receive long term backing, technology investment, and senior leadership attention.

The role

The successful individual will take a hands on leadership role, combining technical delivery, engagement leadership, and people management. This is not a purely relationship driven position. The Director will be expected to lead complex engagements, sign off work, and act as a technical authority across tax reporting and compliance matters.

The team supports large and complex organisations, typically FTSE 100 or equivalent inbound groups, across a wide range of sectors. While the work has a global dimension, the role focuses on UK compliance, reporting, and accounting delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading outsourced tax reporting and corporate tax compliance engagements with full accountability for quality and delivery
* Acting as a technical lead, reviewing and signing off complex work and advising on judgement based issues
* Managing and performance managing engagement teams, setting clear expectations and driving high standards
* Supporting clients with UK tax reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP
* Advising on the tax implications of new legislation and responding to complex technical queries
* Building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders through consistent delivery excellence
* Identifying opportunities to expand services and supporting the conversion of RFPs into live engagements
* Playing an active role in business development, including proposal leadership and client presentations
* Coaching and developing team members, contributing to a positive, high energy culture

Candidate profile

The firm is open minded on background and will consider candidates from professional practice or in house environments, including those from Big 4, Top 20, and other leading advisory firms.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

* Strong experience in UK corporate tax compliance and tax reporting for large or complex groups
* A technically strong profile with the confidence to lead and sign off engagements
* Proven leadership capability, with experience managing and motivating teams
* Positive energy, resilience, and a delivery focused mindset
* Strong communication skills and the ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders
* Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to the growth of the practice

This opportunity will suit either an experienced Director who is a safe pair of hands, or a driven Director with clear ambitions to progress to Partner in the medium term. Senior leadership within the service line takes an active interest in meeting high calibre candidates, and visibility at the top of the business is a key feature of the role.

Location and flexibility

London is preferred, however the firm is open to candidates based in other UK locations, provided they are able to travel into London a couple of days per month as required.

This is a high priority hire, and the search has been running for some time, meaning there is a degree of urgency to secure the right individual.

If this role aligns with your experience and career ambitions, please send your CV in confidence to opportunities@capitaltaxrecruitment.com to explore the opportunity further.
