Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Personal Tax Senior to join a respected independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Stockport.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Personal Tax Senior, Personal Tax Semi Senior or experienced Tax Assistant looking to progress their career within a supportive and established Private Client Tax team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, company directors, landlords and sole traders, providing a high-quality compliance service while gaining exposure to tax planning and advisory work.

As a Personal Tax Senior, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a portfolio of private client tax affairs from compliance through to advisory support.
- Preparing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors, landlords and sole traders.
- Advising on a range of personal tax matters including Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, residency and other client queries.
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the tax team and providing support where required.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Assisting Managers and Partners with tax planning assignments and advisory projects.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within HMRC and internal deadlines.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- ATT qualification or be qualified by experience. CTA qualification would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working within a Personal Tax team in a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of personal tax compliance.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients and handling queries independently.
- Confidence reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach.
