A leading global organisation with operations spanning more than 150 countries is seeking an experienced Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager to join its Group Tax function. This position reports to the M&A Tax Director and plays a central role in tax due diligence, transaction structuring, and post‑acquisition integration across multiple business divisions.

About the Role
This is a high‑visibility role within an international, multi‑business group. The Group Tax team ensures global tax compliance, manages tax risk, and provides strategic support to senior leadership and all business divisions.
The position focuses on two key areas:
1. M&A Transactions (Pre‑Close)
You will lead tax‑related activities on acquisition projects, acting as a trusted advisor to corporate development teams and senior leadership. Responsibilities include:
Conducting or coordinating tax due diligence (income tax, indirect tax, employment tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing).
Reviewing historical tax compliance, audits, positions, and filing accuracy.
Preparing clear due diligence reports and communicating risks and opportunities.
Designing and evaluating tax‑efficient acquisition, financing, and holding structures.
Advising on tax aspects of purchase price adjustments, indemnities, warranties, and SPA language.
Modelling tax impacts of transaction structures (e.g. asset vs. share deals, step‑ups, reorganisations).
Supporting negotiations and reviewing transaction documentation from a tax perspective.
2. Post‑Acquisition Integration
Post‑close, responsibilities differ depending on the division acquired:
For operational/logistics businesses:
Transferring tax‑related knowledge to regional tax managers responsible for ongoing support.
Advising on integration and restructuring projects identified during due diligence.
Highlighting tax synergies, loss utilisation, and other optimisation opportunities.

For corporate businesses:
Building strong functional relationships with newly acquired companies’ tax teams.
Establishing reporting and communication channels between local tax teams and Group Tax.
Ensuring alignment with group tax strategy, governance, and compliance standards.
Supporting tax audits, litigation, compliance matters, and risk‑mitigation strategies.
Overseeing the execution of group‑wide tax controls and compliance procedures.
Facilitating the implementation of Pillar 2 data collection and reporting processes.

This position acts as a key coordinator between Group Tax and local teams globally—providing oversight, technical guidance, and project leadership (without direct line management).

Qualifications and Experience
Fluency in English (Italian or French is a strong advantage).
A Master’s degree in Tax Law, Economics, or equivalent.
A solid understanding of tax systems across multiple jurisdictions.
For Senior Manager level: 6–10 years of international tax experience.
Strong knowledge of group tax processes, governance, and best practices.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to prioritise, manage complexity, and operate under tight deadlines.
A proactive, service‑oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
Comfort working in dynamic, fast‑changing organisational environments.

What’s On Offer
A role with significant strategic impact across global acquisitions.
Exposure to senior leadership and a broad international portfolio.
Opportunities to shape post‑acquisition integration and tax governance.
A collaborative, multicultural environment.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
