Indirect Tax Assistant Manager - London (2 Days On‑Site)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Bonus
Reporting to: Indirect Tax Manager
The organisation is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax professional ready to step into a more senior and influential position. The Indirect Tax Assistant Manager will play a key role in delivering high‑quality indirect tax compliance, reporting, and process development across a complex, internationally focused project. The position is well‑suited to an individual who thrives on ownership, technical depth, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Leads the preparation and submission of all indirect tax returns (UK, EU, and international), ensuring accuracy and timely compliance.
* Oversees the monitoring of indirect tax data, identifying issues and driving remediation with relevant teams.
* Supports indirect tax planning, risk management, and the development of robust processes and tax strategies across the project.
* Remains up to date on UK and EU indirect tax developments and assesses their impact on business operations.
* Manages interactions with HMRC and international tax authorities, including audits and enquiries.
* Partners with AP, AR, Procurement, and other business functions to ensure correct tax treatment across all activities.
* Supports customs‑related reconciliations, import VAT reviews, and international indirect tax requirements.
* Acts as Deputy to the Indirect Tax Manager, providing leadership and guidance across the function when required.
Required Experience & Skills
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Indirect Tax.
* Strong technical background in customs and international VAT.
* Solid experience managing UK and EU indirect tax compliance.
* SAP experience is essential.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across teams.
* Excellent analytical capability and high attention to detail.
