This global healthcare organisation, has an opening for a Group Tax Manager to take full ownership of the organisation's tax obligations, with a heavy focus on corporation tax and VAT compliance.
This is a standalone in-house role, suited to an experienced tax professional who is comfortable operating independently, managing day-to-day tax matters while ensuring compliance, control, and tax risk management across the business.
As the Group Tax Manager, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and your key responsibilities will encompass the following:
· Full ownership of UK corporation tax compliance, including insourcing or preparation and review of tax computations and CT600 returns from external advisors
· Preparation of current and deferred tax calculations for consolidated IFRS accounts and statutory accounts under UK GAAP and management of external auditors
· Management of corporation tax payments, instalment payments and tax forecasts
· End-to-end responsibility for UK VAT compliance, including review of VAT return (prepared by finance team) and complying with Making Tax Digital requirements
· Review and advise on VAT treatment of transactions, including healthcare-related VAT complexities (including zero-rated prescriptions, partial exemption special method)
· Support People & Culture and Finance teams with employment tax processes
· Act as the primary point of contact for HMRC on all tax matters, including audits and enquiries
· Manage relationships with external tax advisers, reviewing work and controlling costs
· Establish, maintain and document robust tax processes and controls
· Identify and manage tax risks, escalating issues appropriately
· Provide practical tax guidance to finance and operational stakeholders
· Monitor changes in UK tax legislation and assess business impact
Your key relationships will be with senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury and HR aswell as HMRC and external tax advisors and auditors.
For this role, you will be self-sufficient and comfortable working autonomously. You will be practical and commerically minded, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines. A confident communicator, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
