Our client is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its global tax team. This newly created role will focus on EMEA VAT advisory, lead VAT-related projects, and contribute to the execution of the global tax strategy.
Responsibilities
* Provide proactive VAT guidance on new initiatives and ongoing operations.
* Review supply chain structures and business activities from an indirect tax perspective.
* Monitor registration requirements and legislative changes across EMEA, communicating impacts to stakeholders.
* Manage interactions with tax authorities on indirect tax matters.
* Promote VAT awareness through training and knowledge sharing.
* Design and implement indirect tax controls and processes aligned with global tax objectives.
* Develop guidance for business activities to ensure compliance.
* Manage relationships with external advisers and key business partners.
* Define and review indirect tax requirements for systems and transformation projects.
* Collaborate with IT to improve tax reporting capabilities and data quality.
* Oversee processes to ensure timely and accurate EMEA VAT compliance.
* Work with accounting teams to strengthen in-house capabilities and manage outsourced compliance providers.
Requirements
* Minimum 4 years' experience, ideally from Big 4 or multinational environments.
* Chartered Tax Advisor qualification (or equivalent).
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
* Excellent time management and project coordination skills.
* Additional languages are advantageous.
* Experience with tax engines and ERP systems.
