Senior Tax Manager (In-House with VAT focus)

We are partnering with a global services group seeking an experienced Standalone Senior Tax Manager to take ownership of all tax matters across the business. This is a newly created role offering the autonomy to shape and manage the group’s tax function, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the wider finance team.

The Role
As the Senior Tax Manager, you will be the go-to expert for all tax-related matters across the group. Around 90% of your focus will be on VAT, overseeing both advisory and compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions. The remaining 10% will cover broader tax areas including corporate and employment taxes.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead all VAT activities across the group, ensuring full compliance and efficiency in reporting.
• Provide proactive VAT advisory support on business transactions, projects, and international operations.
• Liaise with HMRC and other tax authorities as required.
• Manage or review corporate and employment tax submissions and support on wider tax queries.
• Partner with the wider finance team to support commercial decision-making and ensure robust tax governance.
• Drive process improvements and enhance internal tax controls.

About You
• ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong VAT expertise, covering both advisory and compliance.
• Experience working in a standalone or autonomous in-house tax role (or ready to step into one).
• Broad understanding of other taxes (corporate, employment).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to operate independently.
