I have been instructed by a large Financial Services group to support on a newly created role working alongside the International Tax Director. The candidate will support with tax reporting and compliance but will also be heavily involved in an ongoing finance transformation project as well as the general improvement of processes within the tax function.
The Role:
* Support with the tax reporting cycle and the review of balance sheet reconciliations of tax accounts.
* Identification and resolution of issues within local tax provisions and tax status questionnaires, as prepared by the local finance/tax teams.
* Analysis of tax positions for purposes of CbCR and Pillar 2.
* First level preparation / update of the rolling tax summary and associated tax memos, ensuring all key tax positions, events and issues are accurately documented.
* Liaise with the wider Group Tax team to deal with auditor's tax queries and requests with regard to the group accounts.
* Regular updates of the group tax reporting manual and associated training materials, and annual revision of the tax impact of undistributed reserves.
* Look for means and ways to improve the current tax processes and proactively manage relationships with stakeholders in other areas of the business.
Background:
* Qualified accountant/Chartered Tax Advisor
* Background in tax accounting and reporting (IFRS knowledge preferred)
* Experience in UK corporation tax and ideally International Tax
* Advanced Excel skills
This is a fully remote working position therefore it is imperative the candidate is self-motivated and can work autonomously.
