The successful candidate will be affiliated with one of the offices while working as integral part of the national Energy Tax team. Responsibilities include developing client relationships, managing an energy client portfolio, leading tax M&A projects, and fostering the growth of junior staff.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with their Director team to foster client relationships.
* Serving as the primary contact for day-to-day tax matters for a select portfolio of energy clients.
* Executing Tax M&A projects, under the guidance of the Director or Partner, often as part of a multi-disciplinary team for substantial acquisitions or disposals.
* Taking the lead in mentoring and developing junior staff for their growth.
* Staying current on sector developments and analysing their impact on our clients.
* Cultivating internal relationships with our broader Energy team's line of services specialists, actively pursuing identified opportunities.
* Managing their investment in client and relevant financial metrics.
Essential Skills and experience:
* Experienced finance professional with practice training and a relevant qualification (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CTA).
* Proven track record of advising large corporate clients on both UK and international tax matters.
* Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships effectively, even under transaction pressure, while skillfully managing internal teams.
* Possesses strong interpersonal skills, sustaining relationships over time and fostering collaboration.
* Showcases business acumen through a keen interest in sector issues or a genuine enthusiasm to learn.
* Evidences a Business Development mindset with a tangible contribution to business development activities.
* Beneficial experience in tax structuring or previous involvement in deals tax, with additional training provided.
* Useful familiarity with accounting principles. Demonstrates the ability to craft clear, articulate reports summarising intricate tax matters.
* Effective time management skills, ensuring the capability to work efficiently under deadlines.
