ROLE: Senior Tax Manager - Customs (In-House Multinational Food Group)
SALARY: £60,000 - £65,000 & 15% Bonus & Company Car
LOCATION: Midlands (Hybrid)
THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity working for a market-leading multinational food group as a Senior Tax Manager within their Customs team has come to the market. The business is very acquisitive and is growing rapidly with €8.8bn in sales over the last year and have operations across the globe with hubs in UK, Germany, Italy, and Poland to name a few.
As the Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for all areas of Customs across the UK Groups, including the imports and exports functions, whilst also leading on Strategy and Tax Planning, and supporting the Tax Director. You will lead in a strategic and advisory capacity, delegating day to day tasks & queries to the Customs Team Manager and take charge of keeping abreast of ongoing changes to legislation & make amendments to processes procedures, whilst managing any ongoing risks & identifying opportunities for the business in the area of Customs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsibility for the imports & exports functions of the business & performing in a strategic and advisory capacity, delegating day to day tasks & queries to the Customs Team Manager.
* Be the escalation point for Customs related matters; supporting them to achieve a high performing Customs Department.
* Managing the Customs Budget & leading the Customs related planning meetings across the business to develop & implement solutions and mitigate risk, working closely with Direct & Indirect Tax colleagues.
* Keeping abreast of ongoing changes to legislation & make amendments to processes/ procedures, participating in decision making & deployment of strategies.
* Manage any HMRC enquiries & maintain relationship with HMRC & supporting Group colleagues regarding Brexit implications.
* Support other departments such as Commercial & Supply Chain, including business travel as required for meetings with customers and 3rd party logistics providers / Group companies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Customs & Tax with the ability to lead projects, and at least 4 years' experience in a similar Customs-focused role.
