Tax Manager (VAT Bias)

My Client is a start-up Bank that has experienced significant growth over the last two years. They are looking for a Tax Manager either with mixed tax experience (VAT Bias) or a VAT FS expert who is keen to learn. This is a great opportunity to get exposure of all walks of complex Tax matters in both advisory projects & compliance.

* Ensure that the company is compliant with applicable tax laws and regulations including the Code of Practice on Taxation for Banks
* Produce regular returns including CT, VAT, PSA and seek ways to improve and automate the reporting
* Point of contact for the bank's external and internal auditors in relation to tax matters
* Ensure that the VAT PESM and transfer pricing methodology remains appropriate as the business rapidly scales
* Assume responsibility for the bank's R&D claims
* Setting and communicating tax policies

Tax advisory (in conjunction with the company's tax advisors)
* Monitor and report on relevant changes to tax legislation and accounting principles and their impact on the bank.
* Provide pro-active advice to management on all aspects of applicable tax management and planning
* Provide advice in relation to product development and corporate development activities such as forward flow agreements, portfolio purchases and M&A

Requirements
* Recognised accountancy qualification
* Minimum of 5 years tax experience either in practice or industry
* Strong VAT knowledge
* Banking (particularly asset finance) experience gained within industry or practice preferred but not essential
