Corporate Tax Planning & Compliance Manager - Reading/ Home, to £90k + 15% bonus

This is a newly created role.

The business is based in Reading (right next to a station) and offers some flexible office/home working (3 days in office).

This is a UK parented group with annual revenues in their billions and operations across 35 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa,

The role is very diverse with a focus on how & where to add value. Compliance is managed by external advisors so you will oversee that process, understand what is behind the numbers and be able to push back & ask the right questions to optimise the effectiveness of that compliance outsourcing relationship. The Tax department consists of some very bright individuals drawing from many years’ of experience in large & complex businesses so their tax approach is sophisticated and very much proactive with a supportive leadership team.

Due to the size and importance of the UK business, this will take up most of your time but there will be opportunities for involvement in many global projects (like for example global tax audits & cross border projects).

Culturally, the business still has quite a ‘start-up mentality’. With this comes plenty of work on tax transformation projects, simplifying structures, legal entity changes, implementing new ERP models and generally making things a lot simpler.

This really is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make their first move in-house or in fact continue to build their in-house experience in a very dynamic, commercial and enterprising environment.

The job title is ‘manager’ grade but in terms of experience, we are looking for people in Big Four terms operating as an experienced Manager / Senior Manager level or industry equivalent.
