A FTSE 250 Group based in Central London are hiring for a UK Tax Accountant to join the tax function, reporting directly into the Group Tax Director. With a strong presence across Europe, the company is undergoing an exciting period of development across it's several business lines, and will offer an exciting opportunity for the UK Tax Accountant to take responsibility for a broad range of UK and international tax issues. The UK tax accountant will be an important member of the Head office team of around 60 senior executives based in the Group's London Head office.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparation and submission of the UK & N.I. tax computations together with managing the UK SAO processes
* The compilation and monitoring of the groups consolidated tax numbers for budgeting and forecasting purposes
* The computation of the tax charge for the UK companies together with the associated disclosure notes under IFRS for inclusion in the Groups Financial statements and statutory accounts
* Ad hoc queries covering: UK VAT, employment taxes
* Other project work as required
Candidate Background:
* The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years tax experience either in a top 20 accountancy practice or in a large commercial organisation
* Strong corporation tax compliance skills
* Analytical and methodical approach to work
* Good computer knowledge of Excel and Alphatax
* Up to date knowledge of IFRS (especially with regards to Tax disclosures)
* Pro-active and able to work independently
