JOB DESCRIPTION
The High Net Worth Junior / Semi-Senior Tax Associate will:
• Prepare and review federal, state and local tax returns for individuals and entities
• Gather all relevant tax and financial information during the year for quarterly estimates, extensions and tax returns
• Monitor and make recommendations regarding tax planning
• Recommend structures for business liability and tax planning purposes (i.e., limited partnerships, limited liability companies and S and C corporations)
• Provide federal and state tax audit representation
• Provide administrative services with respect to tax matters, including mailing tax returns to respective filing jurisdictions and coordinating the mailing of quarterly estimated tax payments
• Assist attorneys in executing estate plan documents and coordinate funding of estate planning entities
• Assist clients in funding annual gifts and opening custodian brokerage accounts
• Prepare and review federal gift tax returns
• Gather information to prepare foundation tax returns and quarterly projections
• Administer private foundations including estimated tax payments and minimum distribution requirements
• Prepare brokerage account trading analysis and reconcile security positions to brokerage account statements
• Prepare bank account write-up of receipt and disbursement activity and reconcile to bank statements
• Household bill paying including monthly bank reconciliation and cash flow/expense reports
• Prepare personal financial statements
REQUIRED SKILLS
• 1+ year of High Net Worth Tax experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Solid Tax background (Compliance, Individual, Partnership, Trust / Estate)
• Microsoft Excel proficient
• Solid analytical and research skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
• Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
