Mike Longman (FCA CTA) was formerly an equity partner and Head of Tax in the Manchester office of Baker Tilly. He has over 15 years experience of building tax teams and departments and of recruiting tax specialists as an employer. He is a former Chairman of the Manchester branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Ian Riley, who is also a director, joined Longman Tax Recruitment in October 2011 directly from a Big Four firm based in Manchester, where he was an M & A Tax Manager having trained as a chartered accountant and spent over six years with the firm. He specialises in advising candidates at all levels up to and including Senior Manager and deals with clients across the North of England. Given his background as an ACA having worked in tax he is also well placed to understand fully the needs of both clients and candidates alike. Ian gives candidates a highly personalised service and offers clear concise career advice which is reflected in the high level of referrals he receives from former candidates.
Alison Riordan, joined us in February 2013 having specialised in tax recruitment in the local marketplace for around ten years with one of the national agencies. Alison focuses on recruiting in-house tax specialists and also recruting for indirect tax roles. Alison is well known for the exceptional level of service and advice she offers to clients and candidates alike.
Joanna Longman is a VAT specialist and was previously Regional Head of VAT at one of the Big 4 firms before becoming VAT Director of a large local practice in the North West. She has been an active member of various chapters of the VAT Practitioners Group.
