They seek a tax assistant with c 18 months to a couple of years of tax experience working in an accountancy firm – someone who can write a letter and manage deadlines. In this new role you will spend the first 6 months learning all about Research & Development tax credits and innovation taxes. You will help the team with the very end of the process so invoicing, dealing with queries from HMRC or work referrers. After 6 months you will move across to a full R&D tax role writing reports, preparing calculations and dealing with HMRC. You will have the opportunity to study for professional qualifications (ATT and CTA) and there is lots of scope for progression in this team. If you happen to have a degree in a science or in engineering this would be advantageous but most importance is a strong work ethic, good communication skills and a friendly can-do attitude.
