Leading Independent Accountancy Firm - Tax Assistant - Study Support Available

Your new company
A leading Cheshire firm within commuting distance of Wrexham, Chester and Ellesmere Port area's are looking to appoint a Tax Assistant to their successful and busy team. This general practice offer a range of services to their extensive client base including accounts preparation, audit, tax and payroll and following a period of sustained growth they are now looking to expand their tax department.

Your new role
As a Tax assistant, you will be responsible for initially assisting more senior Tax Advisers in the preparation of both corporate and personal tax returns, planning and in time advising clients. You will be working closely with the Senior members of the team on their portfolio of clients which over time and through progression you will come to take a lead on. You will be responsible for the initial contact with the client in obtaining client documentation and will then prepare the self-assessment tax return for manager review. You will handle any basic ad-hoc enquiries with sign off from a manager and assist in the general report writing and general tax planning advice.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a successful candidate for this position, you will have worked in an accountancy firm previously and ideally have had experience preparing self-assessment tax returns and Corporation tax returns. You will be passionate about developing your career in Tax and will have excellent communication skills to liaise with clients. You will also be part way through, or willing to study towards your ATT qualification, if not already qualified.

What you'll get in return
In return for your efforts you will receive a salary of up to £22,000 (depending on experience) + study support if required. You will also receive 20 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday. There is free parking on site and the firm offer a pension. This is an excellent opportunity with one the largest and leading firms in the Cheshire area.
