Group Tax Manager (Lloyd’s Insurer)

A rapidly growing Lloyd’s of London insurance firm is looking to appoint their first Group Tax Manager to in-house the company’s tax operations. The firm, formed this side turn of the century, has in recent years succeeded in being appointed Managing Agency status, and with their well-respected board of directors looks to continue its impressive growth.

Based in The City within viewing distance of One Lime Street, this is a rare opportunity to join a company on the up.

Responsibilities:

- Ownership of the corporate tax compliance and reporting process, inclusive of deferred tax
- Preparation and review of the Lloyd’s syndicate tax returns (prior experience here would be beneficial)
- Supporting the Head of Finance with the development of tax strategy
- Act as business partner with Big 4 advisor support on tax implications for company activity e.g. M&A and international expansion
- Managing the relationship with HMRC
- Assist with outsourced VAT compliance, with a view to in-housing in the future with another tax hire

Requirements:

- Insurance experience is the most important requirement here, with Lloyd’s insurance being a large plus
- Big 4 or Top Tier training with a qualification would be very beneficial (ACA/CTA/ACCA/CPA)
- Proven knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance and reporting
- Excellent business partnering skills, either developed in-house or in practice
