As Tax Manager, you will take principal responsibility for management and review of UK compliance and reporting as well as advise on a varierty of projects. You will be expected to engage fluently with the wider tax team and senior commercial stakeholders on a wide variety of projects across the Group.
This role suits an experienced UK trained corporate tax professional with excellent tax accouting skills and some knowledge of real estate taxes. For the successful candidate this role will develop to encompass all Group compliance on an international basis, ideal if you are looking for the next commercial step forward in your career, an excellent first move to industry.
Key responsibilities:
Advisory projects;
- M&A, disposals and new company integration
- property transactions
- transfer pricing projects
- claiming tax credits on R&D expenditure
- risk management and process improvements
- the preparation of replies to HM Revenue and customs enquiries
- other ad hoc queries such as large business transactions
- Ad-hoc assistance with compliance and advice for other taxes, such as preparation of VAT returns or compliance with Employment taxes
Tax Compliance;
- Assist with integration of new acquisitions on to existing software
- Responsible for the preparation of the tax computations and returns for a portfolio of companies
- Analysis of tax sensitive expenses within the profit and loss for inclusion in the tax computation
- Assist with capital allowances claims for the tax computations
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining deadlines for tax returns and tax payments
Tax reporting;
- Responsible for the calculation of the quarterly tax charge for a portfolio companies
- Assist with calculation of effective tax rates for companies
- Responsible for the review of tax balance sheet positions on a quarterly basis
- Preparation of tax journals to be provided to the finance team
- Liaising with finance teams to ensure any ad hoc transactions are considered appropriately
- Responsible for the preparation of year – end provisions for a portfolio of companies for inclusion in the group accounts
- Responsible for the preparation of the tax journals to be provided to finance
- Responsible for the preparation of return to provision calculations
- Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts provision for inclusion in the statutory accounts
About you:
- ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- 1-3 years PQE
- Proven UK corporate tax experience
- Excellent tax accounting skills
- Real estate tax exposure an advantage
- Exposure to other taxes an advantage
