Wilkinson Partners are currently working closely alongside a Big 4 firm who have ambitious and exciting growth plans for their tax compliance and transformation practice. The practice is a national team that works with a broad range of clients in all sectors, from leading FTSE firms or inbounds to mid-market companies. The services they provide include compliance management services, tax audits and tax accounting, tax transformation and tax technology. One of our client’s priority areas is the operational excellence service line, which is responsible for leading and project managing the tax compliance and transformation projects.
The role involves:
• Managing the delivery of proposals and other targeting meetings for tax transformation opportunities
• Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients
• Generating additional work opportunities by identifying areas of value add for clients
• Managing the delivery of tax transformation projects within the team, and being the key day-to-day client contact on these projects
• Managing a project delivery team, which may include both team members from the firm and client employees
• Understanding and reviewing current business processes (across both Finance and Tax), and considering the efficiency and effectiveness of the design of these processes (including related controls), and where process improvements can be achieved
• Taking a key role in client workshops and undertaking interviews to understand business processes, alongside capability analyses for the three key areas of people, process and technology
• Identifying and considering tax risks, along with the controls required to manage these risks
• Considering the split of activities between functions, and designing potential future business processes
• Creating detailed process flow and mapping documents to support these business and functional processes
• Designing manuals and guidance on key processes to support the various business functions e.g. accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger/finance team, tax etc.
• Advising clients on their tax function design, including people, process and technology
• Supporting clients by providing training
• Supporting of the delivery of tax transformation opportunities within our wider global compliance outsourcing engagements
• Supporting the development of junior team members
The successful candidate will:
• Be ACA or CTA qualified (preferred but not essential)
• Experience of tax transformation projects (preferred but not essential)
• Experience of tax compliance and tax advisory work
• Experience of working on tax risk management projects, including process improvement
• A sales focus and a desire to build relationships with new clients
