Customs Consultant Contract- I am partnering with a leading Health and Beauty Retailer to appoint a Customs consultant for a 6-12 month contract. 400 PER DAY.
My client, a distinguished brand in the Retail industry, requires a Customs specialist to ensure that the group is 'Brexit ready' and fully compliant with any and all customs obligations once the UK leaves the EU.
Responsibilities will entail:
* Identify and mapping current Customs process for third country importations
* Assess the suitability of this process and enhance where necessary
* Submission of claim for overpaid duty in respect of past imports from APAC
* Identify and map the groups supply chain for goods and assess the impact of Brexit on this Supply Chain
* Prepare group for a 'hard border' with the EU, including but not limited to:
* classifying all GFR/GNFR for customs purposes (over 16,000 products across a multitude of market groups)
* Assessing the impact of Brexit on the ROI supply chain and international eCommerce, establishing a robust process for future completion of import and export declarations, working with supply chain, logistics and import agent, utilising IT where appropriate to establish a robust audit trail
* Mitigation of any supply chain impact (at the border)
* Working with Tax, Finance and Legal to minimise the VAT and duty impact of Brexit
* Assisting with all other Customs and import/export matters
Experience/attributes
* Minimum of 6+ years working full-time within the field of Customs matters
* Direct experience in classifying a broad spectrum of goods for Customs purposes
* Experience in mapping and enhancing customs processes
* Relevant customs qualification/accreditation
