Head of Indirect Tax (Global 500 Company), Germany

Our client is a large and successful European multinational company. This is an opportunity to join the European tax department in a leadership position, taking responsibility for the indirect tax team.

The Group would like to appoint someone with strong leadership skills and proven experience of managing a team. From day one you will take on around five direct reports and this will increase over time.

On the technical side, the work will include indirect tax planning, providing day-to-day indirect tax advice, handling relationships with fiscal authorities, and oversight of compliance.

Most important is to have someone with first class communication skills and the ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of strong technicians.

Ideally you will have at least 12 years of German and international indirect tax experience from working in a Big 4 firm and/or from the in-house tax department of a multinational company.

You will need solid indirect tax expertise, enabling you to have detailed tax technical discussions with staff and tax authorities. Team management and communication skills are also very important.

Fluency in English is essential. At least business level German language would be highly beneficial. The size and complexity of this global company will provide many professional and intellectual challenges for you for many years to come.
