Reporting to the Head of Tax you will be responsible for supporting the UK businesses of this large group and will be responsible for project work on these entities and their UK tax compliance affairs. Your main responsibilities will include:
Managing all UK corporate tax compliance issues including reviewing the tax returns, dealing with HMRC enquiries and calculating the tax liabilities due.
Maintaining the SAO file.
Being actively involved in the HMRC CCM relationship.
Providing day to day support to the Head of Tax on corporate tax related matters
Tax support on new acquisitions / developments, including design of tax efficient structures, review of tax assumptions in AI&FA models, highlighting key risks and opportunities from M&A/BD activities.
Together with regional finance and investment management colleagues, reviewing cash repatriation opportunities and ensuring these are developed in a tax efficient manner.
Negotiating tax aspects of M&A transactions with 3rd parties and partners - tax warranties and indemnities etc.
Leading the implementation of tax related projects in the UK business.
Managing the tax accountant.
You should be ACA/CTA/ACCA qualified with experience of working in a corporate tax role in a large accountancy firm and possibly also in-house. You should have experience of dealing with a range of corporate tax issues such as R&D, capital allowances, group loss planning, transfer pricing, M&A and corporate tax compliance and the associated tax accounting.
