The Front Office Support, Projects & Advisory team of six are responsible for advice on corporation tax, withholding tax and transfer taxes, with a focus on complex transactions, disposals, securitisations, leasing and simplification. They are looking for a manager to join the team.

Purpose of the Role

* Prepare or review sign offs covering Market transactions, including securitisation/warehousing, repos and stock lending transactions
* Prepare or review sign offs covering new products and transactions from each franchise
* Advise on group restructuring transactions e.g. ICB and Brexit as required
* Advise on queries relating to market standard agreements
* Attend industry tax fora e.g. AFME and share feedback with the team
* Liaise with Finance contacts and provide specialist advice e.g. re bank levy
* Provide operational tax support
* Ensure deals noted above are reviewed, 4-eyed and sign off circulated to the Business within requested timeframe
* Work with senior managers in assessing the tax risk (including reputational risk) arising from a range of projects and business areas
* Liaise with other tax teams, e.g. VAT and transfer pricing, on a variety of transactions and ensure they are made aware of relevant deals and issues
* Liaise with internal and external auditors re collating data/information required to carry out audit
* Monitoring and assisting franchises with tax policy compliance
* Advisory, documentation, workflow management and projects

Experience Required

Technical Knowledge

* ACA/CTA/Legal or equivalent qualification or qualified by related experience with strong record of application within a business environment
* Experience of UK corporate tax is essential, with a preference for experience in Financial Services
* Microsoft Office
* People Management: Ability to liaise effectively and manage relationships with a diverse range of customers and colleagues and to communicate confidently and persuasively.

* Good general business and commercial awareness
* Ability to act flexibly and practically in approach to solving problems and providing reliable deliveries
* Ability to manage relationships within Tax and with front office colleagues and manage competing and demanding deadlines
