This is a fantastic opportunity to join an instantly recognisable household brand name on a long term fixed term contract up to 24 months. This is a unique varied and challenging role including VAT and CT with no direct compliance work involved. This role will report directly to the UK Head of Tax.

Job spec:

* Lead, manage and provide VAT advice and support on the optimum structuring of business transactions from both a domestic and international perspective.
* Build relations across the Regional Organisation (RO) to be the first point of contact in respect of VAT matters.
* Lead and support RO in respect of HMRC VAT / Indirect tax audits and provide competency training to associates.
* Management of the Corporation Tax compliance function which is outsourced.
* Take the lead on UK Group tax accounting and reporting requirements as well as manage the quarterly tax instalment process.
* Partner with the Head of Tax and Central Tax teams to ensure the Group's overall global tax strategy and approach is confirmed.
* Provide tax support on adhoc and routine projects; R&D, M&A transactions, transfer pricing, thin capitalisation, withholding taxes etc.
* Assist CTG (Controlling) and FIN (Finance) with transfer pricing compliance, reporting and documentation requirements.
* Support Business units achieve SAO compliance and annual reporting requirements.
* Support Foreign Trade departments in respect of any cross functional indirect tax risks and regulatory requirements.
* Manage and build relationships with HMRC and external consultants.

Candidate details:

* You will be a qualified ACA / ACCA and ideally also be a CTA specialist with 3- 5 years post qualification experience.
* Strong technical skills across all areas of UK and EU VAT, together with solid UK corporation tax experience.
* Understanding and practical experience of working within a large international group is desirable.
* You should have great attention to detail be numerate and technically competent.
* Have the ability to work under pressure, work well within a small team and have strong communication skills across all levels.
