Our client is one of the largest and most successful European multinational companies, with a truly global footprint.
This is an opportunity to join the tax department at a senior level, becoming the No.2 to the Head of Tax. The role is based in the headquarters near Düsseldorf. The position has both technical and managerial responsibilities. On the technical side, you will need strong German & international corporate tax experience, including tax planning, audit and transfer pricing.
The Group would like to bring in someone with leadership skills and proven experience of managing a team. From day one you will take on around 6 direct reports and this will increase over time, to full management of the department, setting the strategy etc.
Ideally you will have at least 10 years of German and international corporate tax experience. Ideally this will be gained from working in a Big 4 firm and from the in-house tax department of another multinational company.
You will need professional direct tax expertise (Steuerberater), enabling you to have detailed tax technical discussions with staff and tax authorities. Fluency in English and German is essential and you will be creative and able to combine business desires with tax regulations.
