As a consequence of ongoing departmental growth and significant new business wins, this successful tax investigations and dispute resolution team in London is looking to further expand, with the recruitment of a capable Tax Investigations Dispute Resolutions Manager.
The role in brief:
Leading and managing complex HMRC enquiries and investigations at all stages through to settlement
Preparing disclosure reports (CDF/COP9 and COP8), including all computational aspects of the report, for submission to HMRC’s Fraud
Investigation Service (formerly Specialist Investigations), delegating appropriate tasks to more junior staff
Dealing with HMRC correspondence including preparation of responses and drafting appropriate correspondence
Managing ADR programmes on behalf of the client
Managing voluntary disclosures on behalf of clients (post LDF)
Providing tax litigation and Tribunal support services, including instructing and teaming with Counsel
Liaising directly with clients, contacts and other parties, ensuring work is done within the agreed timescales
Providing internal technical and practical support to colleagues on enquiries or in relation to important tax procedural matters, such as assessing time limits and penalties
Attending and minuting client and HMRC meetings
Managing billing and client acceptance procedures
Business Development ‑ leading or supporting research and development of market ideas and propositions
Developing junior staff, knowledge sharing and training others
