Senior Manager (Trust Team) - Yeovil
Overview:
Simpson Booth have an exciting opportunity within an accountancy and financial planning firm that is based in the West Country. Our client is currently looking to hire a Director or Senior Manager to head up their Trust Team.
With four regional offices in total, this role will be based out of the Yeovil office and will focus on the growth and development of the firm’s Trust business.
Main responsibilities:
• Managing the Trust team including supporting professional development and monitoring KPIs.
• Overseeing technical training and qualifications.
• Management of annual tax and accounting compliance cycle.
• Developing relationships with the tax teams within the firm with their planning, including technical analysis of proposals.
• Legal and tax review of trust deeds, requiring an in-depth understanding of the major taxes for trusts (IT, CGT, IHT).
• Review of self-assessment tax returns and inheritance tax returns.
• Provision of tax planning advice for trust clients.
• Promotion of the Trust Team both internally and externally, including raising the profile of the team within the market and developing new business.
• Writing articles regarding current trust affairs and general business development and marketing.
Qualifications & experience:
• CTA qualified or equivalent
• STEP qualified
• Previous experience of taxation of trusts, including IT, CGT and IHT
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• A team player who is passionate about great client service
• Ideally have working knowledge of tax software e.g. CCH
