* A high level of technical competence - the successful applicant will be confident working with legislation as well as commentary and HMRC guidance.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written - you will need the ability to explain complex issues in a way appropriate to the understanding and experience of the client and be able to persuade and negotiate, specifically in communications with HMRC.
* To be self-motivated, but able to work as part of a team, with good organisational and time-management skills.
* Discretion when handling confidential information.
