As Indirect Tax Manager, you will take principal responsibility for management and review of all UK VAT matters. You will be expected to engage fluently with the wider tax team and senior commercial stakeholders on a wide variety of projects across the Group.
This role suits an experienced UK trained indirect tax professional with some knowledge of real estate taxes being an advantage. For the successful candidate this role will develop to encompass all Group compliance on an international basis, ideal if you are looking for the next commercial step forward in your career. The job requires innovative problem-solving skills to reach solutions that are both commercially viable and tax-beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
•Management of all compliance and advisory services in respect of UK Indirect Taxes for the group
•Providing support to the UK Market Unit in respect of Indirect Taxes, primarily but not exclusively VAT & Insurance Premium Tax (IPT)
•Providing initial evaluation and subsequent oversight of the implementation, of indirect tax planning opportunities
•Carrying out 2nd level review of returns and managing partial exemption position
•Managing process improvements, including assessing /introducing technology solutions
•Risk Management for the Group, identifying areas of weakness for review/improvement
•Keeping up to date with technical developments and understanding how they affect the business
•Managing SAO requirements for Indirect Taxes
•Evaluate planning arrangements brought to the group by external advisors
•Manage relationship with HMRC
About you:
•ACA or CTA qualified preferred or qualified by experience in indirect tax
•Proven UK indirect tax experience
•Real estate tax exposure preferred but not essential
