The team of 20 across the North advises a wide range of clients of all sizes covering PLCs, PE backed companies, private companies and inbound groups. This broad range of prestigious as well as up and coming clients will enable the successful candidate to develop over time a portfolio to match their skills and interests.
We focus on building strong relationships so that we can truly understand our clients’ global commercial strategy and provide exceptional tailored tax advice at every stage of their international or financing life-cycle. We use our deep technical expertise and international project management experience to bring the services of our team and the wider firm to our clients and targets. International tax has always been an exciting and dynamic area, but with the level of globalisation and legislative change, there has never been a better time to hone your specialism!
The successful applicant will have a UK accountancy or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA and/or CTA) or comparable overseas equivalent, and have previous experience of managing corporate tax assignments, preferably with a heavily international flavour.
There are also significant opportunities to assist the leadership team in developing the tax practice in marketing and business development.
About the role
The successful candidate will be have day-to-day responsibility for managing on-going client relationships, winning and developing work across all aspects of tax as well as undertaking one-off advisory projects.
Managing a client portfolio and one-off projects will be an essential part of your role which will also include responsibility for managing more junior members of staff in the team. You will provide your client with excellent tax advice, concentrating on international aspects but bringing in other specialists and services as appropriate.
The successful candidate will have a strong UK corporate and international tax knowledge, combined with the ability to provide a commercial tax service to our clients and to lead teams of highly motivated people.

Requirements
• Qualified ACA / CTA (or equivalent) (pre-time qualification will be considered)
• A strong academic background
• Relevant experience gained ideally in an accountancy / legal firm
• A commitment to continuing to enhance technical and other knowledge and skills
• Willingness to take on new and challenging work

• Good organisational and people skills
• Up to date UK Corporate Tax experience, however we are open to hearing from qualified professionals with a different accountancy background (such as audit)
