Tax Manager - Direct & Indirect Tax Manager - Law Firm, Leeds

An international law firm with local and global reach is growing its UK Finance Team in Leeds and seeks an experienced Tax Manager. You will own UK compliance and advisory work, support tax matters across the firm's international network, and have real influence on the finance function.
You will bring a solid understanding of UK and international tax legislation and Accounting Standards, along with awareness of the tax issues that arise in overseas jurisdictions. Your commercial awareness and influencing skills will help you build credibility at every level of the firm, from the finance team through to senior leadership.
Day to day, you will manage direct and indirect tax compliance, including UK income tax computations and corporation tax returns, alongside planning and advisory work. You will prepare and submit the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement to HMRC, coordinate payment of any liability, and support the Payroll and Benefits Team. You will also take the lead on tax audits, liaising with tax authorities and assessing any changes required, and help train and develop junior colleagues.
You will be committed to improving the tax function, whether by streamlining processes or by spotting opportunities in legislative changes and the firm's expansion into new markets. The firm invests in its people, with well-regarded family and carer, wellbeing and development programmes.

The ideal candidate will hold ATT or an equivalent tax qualification and have experience in an accounting or professional services environment.
