We’re looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Director to join the leadership team of an ambitious firm in Cumbria. You’ll take ownership of an established portfolio of corporate clients, build trusted senior-level relationships and deliver high-value tax advisory work, while playing an influential role in business development, team growth and the strategic direction of the firm’s Corporate Tax offering.

Your responsibilities as a Corporate Tax Director
You’ll take the lead on a substantial Corporate Tax portfolio, acting as a trusted adviser to owner-managed businesses, corporate clients and groups. You’ll oversee the delivery of both Corporate Tax compliance and complex advisory projects, leading client meetings and strategic tax planning discussions while ensuring assignments are delivered to a high technical standard, within agreed scope, budget and timescales.
You’ll take commercial ownership of client engagements, including scoping projects, negotiating fees and managing profitability, while identifying cross-selling opportunities and new areas for growth. Building long-term client relationships will be central to the role, alongside developing the practice’s market presence through networking, referrals and wider business development activity.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll work closely with leadership to help shape strategic growth plans and contribute to the continued expansion of the Corporate Tax practice. You’ll also mentor, coach and develop tax professionals at different stages of their careers, helping to build a high-performing team while maintaining excellent technical, professional and client service standards.
Requirements
You will be CTA qualified or hold an equivalent professional qualification, with significant experience delivering Corporate Tax advisory services. You’ll have a proven track record of managing senior client relationships, growing fee income and identifying new business opportunities, alongside strong networking and business development capabilities.
You’ll also bring experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Commercially aware and client-focused, you’ll be recognised as a subject matter expert within Corporate Tax and confident representing the business in the wider market.
A full UK driving licence is required for this position.
