New VAT Director Opportunity

An esteemed and rapidly expanding accountancy and advisory firm is strengthening its Indirect Tax capability and is seeking an experienced VAT Director to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of its specialist VAT practice. Experienced Senior Managers ready to step into a Director-level position are also encouraged to apply.

The Role:

This is a high-profile opportunity for a technically strong VAT professional seeking significant client exposure, commercial responsibility and genuine career progression. The successful candidate will advise a diverse portfolio of complex businesses on sophisticated VAT matters, providing practical guidance across advisory and compliance, transaction-related projects, restructuring, due diligence, HMRC enquiries and contentious issues. The role will also involve managing key client relationships, developing new business opportunities, contributing to tenders and marketing initiatives, and working closely with senior stakeholders across the wider firm.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a substantial and profitable client portfolio, providing clear and commercially practical VAT advice while leading and developing junior team members. There will be considerable scope to build a market profile, generate additional work from existing relationships and contribute directly to the continued expansion of the VAT team.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have strong practice-based VAT advisory and compliance experience, excellent technical knowledge and the ability to communicate complex VAT issues clearly to non-specialists. Commercial awareness, business development capability and experience managing significant client relationships are highly valued. A relevant professional qualification such as ACA, CA, CTA or equivalent would be advantageous, although candidates with strong relevant VAT expertise from other professional backgrounds will also be considered.
