This opportunity sits within a specialist trusts team and has arisen due to the departure of a longstanding team member. The successful individual will take responsibility for a significant trust portfolio, largely centred around a substantial multi-generational family client with complex international structures and investments.
The role is predominantly compliance focused (approximately 95%) but also offers exposure to advisory projects and the opportunity to become involved in probate work, depending on individual interests and experience.

The Role
You will manage a varied portfolio of UK and international trusts and estates, working closely with trustees, beneficiaries, investment managers and professional advisers.
The portfolio includes exposure to:
* Offshore trusts
* US trusts
* Australian trusts
* UAE foundations
* UK and non-UK resident trusts and estates
Working alongside senior members of the team, you will ensure the delivery of a high-quality service while supporting and developing junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of trust and estate clients
* Reviewing trust and estate accounts and tax returns prepared by junior team members
* Reviewing inheritance tax calculations, including ten-year anniversary and exit charges
* Corresponding with trustees, beneficiaries and personal representatives regarding distributions and tax reporting requirements
* Ensuring compliance with HMRC Trust Registration Service requirements
* Liaising with investment managers, trustees, legal advisers and HMRC
* Assisting with advisory projects relating to trusts, estates and succession planning
* Supporting Partners and Directors with technical work and report drafting
* Mentoring junior members of the team
* Assisting with client relationship management and wider business development activities

About You
Applications are welcomed from candidates currently working within accountancy firms, private client teams or law firms.
You will ideally possess:
* CTA qualification (essential)
* Strong technical knowledge of UK trust and estate taxation
* Experience managing trust and estate compliance matters
* Excellent communication and client relationship skills
* Strong organisational and project management abilities
Desirable experience includes:
* STEP qualification
* Probate experience or qualification
* Exposure to international and offshore trust structures
* Experience using CCH Trust Accounts and Digita software

What's on Offer
* Exposure to complex international trust structures
* A high-quality portfolio with significant international elements
* Opportunity to expand advisory and probate experience
* A collaborative and supportive team environment
* Excellent long-term career development prospects within a respected private client practice
