Tax Senior Manager - Alternative Funds

An established professional services business is expanding its Alternative Funds tax offering and is seeking an experienced tax professional to join at Senior Manager level.

This is an opportunity to work with an interesting portfolio of investment businesses across the alternative investment market, including private equity, credit, real estate and other investment structures. The role combines technical tax work, client management and team leadership, providing plenty of variety and exposure to sophisticated clients.

The successful individual will take responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of client work, providing practical advice on UK and international tax matters and ensuring that compliance and advisory projects are delivered effectively. They will have regular interaction with senior client contacts and will be expected to build strong, long-term relationships based on commercial and technically sound advice.

A key part of the position will be leading and developing the wider team. The Senior Manager will support less experienced colleagues, provide technical guidance, manage workloads and help create a positive environment in which people can develop their careers.

There is also scope to become involved in business development and the growth of the practice, working with existing clients and helping to develop new opportunities across the alternative investment market.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Strong UK tax experience within alternative investments, asset management or a related area
* Experience across tax compliance and/or advisory work
* A good understanding of corporate and partnership tax
* The ability to manage client assignments from start to finish
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience managing, coaching and developing tax professionals
* A commercial approach and an interest in developing client relationships
* CTA, ACA, CA, solicitor qualification or equivalent

This role would suit a Senior Manager or an experienced Manager ready to take the next step, particularly someone who wants greater responsibility for clients, people and business growth within a specialist and expanding area of tax.
