A leading global professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Director to join its Private Capital Transactions tax team in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior tax professional to work at the heart of the private capital market, advising investors, management teams and businesses on complex, high-profile transactions. The successful individual will join a highly connected transactions platform with exposure to private equity, infrastructure, funds, restructuring and portfolio activity.
The opportunity
The role offers the chance to combine technical UK tax expertise with genuine commercial and transaction experience. The team advises across the transaction lifecycle, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, listings and carve-outs.
Typical work will include:
* Tax due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions
* UK tax structuring and transaction planning
* Funds flow and tax modelling
* SPA and transaction documentation review
* Advising on restructurings, listings and carve-outs
* Working with international tax specialists on cross-border transactions
* Developing trusted relationships with senior clients and their advisers
Key responsibilities
The successful Director will:
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a high level of service
* Play an active role in developing existing accounts and winning new business
* Lead the delivery of complex tax projects with a strong commercial and deal-focused approach
* Ensure technical quality while managing risk and project delivery effectively
* Identify opportunities to create additional value for clients
* Develop a strong internal and external network
* Lead, coach and mentor junior members of the team
* Contribute to the strategic and operational development of the wider practice
What they're looking for
The ideal candidate will be an experienced UK tax practitioner with strong reviewing experience and expertise in Restructuring Tax, together with a genuine interest in transactions and the private capital environment.
Applicants are expected to have:
* Strong UK tax technical and advisory experience
* Experience operating at a senior level within a professional services environment
* Expertise in Restructuring Tax
* Strong client-facing and business development capabilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* ACA, ATT, CTA or an equivalent international or legal qualification
* A degree or equivalent academic qualification
Experience of UK tax compliance and strong project management skills would also be advantageous.
