The Role
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Tax Advisory Director as part of its growth strategy. The successful candidate will join a wider Corporate Tax team and play a key role in delivering tax advisory services.
The role will involve supporting clients on a broad range of tax advisory projects, including transaction advice, tax due diligence, corporate reorganisations, employee share incentives, and working closely with fund principals. Work will be delivered in collaboration with tax partners across London and regional offices.
The successful candidate will also be encouraged to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, particularly collaborating closely with colleagues in Corporate Finance and other specialist teams.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve working on complex technical matters and is expected to cover the following areas:
* Work with partners to help develop the go-to-market strategy
* Lead and support a diverse client base, including startups, high-growth entrepreneurial businesses, private family capital, large international groups, and investment funds
* Advise management teams and shareholders on business disposals and acquisitions
* Lead and coordinate tax due diligence projects, working alongside corporate finance, employment tax, and VAT teams
* Advise on and assist with implementing corporate reorganisations (e.g. capital reductions and demergers)
* Review share purchase agreements, tax covenants, and tax disclosure letters in relation to transactions
* Prepare HMRC statutory and non-statutory clearance applications
* Advise on structuring international groups and cross-border transactions, working with overseas advisors where required
* Provide guidance on structuring property acquisitions and disposals
* Support inheritance tax planning for private clients using shareholdings
* Advise on the interpretation and application of double tax treaties in corporate transactions
* Liaise with tax compliance teams on post-transaction compliance matters

The Team
The Corporate Tax team operates across multiple office locations and includes a broad group of partners and professionals. The team supports a large and varied client portfolio across sectors such as manufacturing, technology, retail, recruitment, financial services, hospitality, and property.
The tax advisory function sits within the Corporate Tax team and works closely with Corporate Finance and other advisory specialists.
About You
Our client is seeking a professionally qualified individual (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA) with several years of post-qualification experience in corporate tax, due diligence, and M&A.
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong ability to interpret complex tax legislation and provide practical, commercial advice
* Experience preparing and reviewing advisory reports and technical correspondence
* Solid UK corporate tax technical expertise
* Effective project management skills, including planning, prioritisation, and budget control
* Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate progress clearly to clients and colleagues
* Strong relationship-building skills with both clients and internal teams
* Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of audiences
* Commitment to delivering high-quality work and taking ownership of projects
