A highly respected professional services firm is seeking an outstanding Private Client Tax Director to play a senior role within its private client practice. This is a key appointment for an individual recognised for exceptional technical expertise, strong professional judgement, and credibility with highly sophisticated clients.
The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work on some of the most complex private client matters in the UK market.
The Role
You will advise a portfolio of ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals with assets in the UK and overseas, many of whom are business owners or entrepreneurs with complex personal and commercial structures.
Your work will include:
* UK and international tax planning for UHNWIs
* Advisory work for business owners, founders and families with operating and investment businesses
* Residence, domicile, non‑dom and remittance basis planning
* Trusts, estates and long‑term succession planning
* Structuring and oversight of cross‑border arrangements, working with overseas advisers
* Leading and reviewing technically complex advisory projects end‑to‑end
You will also:
* Act as a senior technical authority within the private client team
* Take responsibility for the technical quality and risk management of advice
* Provide mentoring and technical guidance to senior colleagues
* Contribute to the development of private client advisory capability and thought leadership
* Maintain and deepen long‑term client relationships
This role is strongly advisory and technically led, with limited focus on routine compliance.
Candidate Profile
This opportunity suits an individual who is technically excellent, commercially aware, and trusted with the most demanding private client work.
Essential:
* CTA qualification (or equivalent)
* Extensive experience advising UHNWIs with UK and international assets
* Strong technical grounding across private client and owner‑managed business taxation
* Proven experience acting for business owners, founders or families with complex structures
* Ability to deliver and explain complex technical advice clearly and confidently
Desirable:
* Experience with cross‑border structuring and international planning
* Exposure to trusts, succession planning and family governance
* Recognised internally or externally as a private client technical specialist
