Your new company
This long standing, well regarding accountancy practice with a large north-west presence is seeking an experienced Personal Tax Specialist to join their growing team in Northwich. This is a permanent, full‑time role offering the opportunity to manage a varied and interesting personal tax portfolio within a supportive and modern practice environment.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Client Director, the successful applicant will take ownership of an established portfolio of approximately 300-350 personal tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, landlords and Court of Protection cases. The role will cover the full end‑to‑end personal tax compliance cycle, with responsibility for the preparation, review and submission of self‑assessment tax returns, ensuring accuracy, technical quality and compliance with UK tax legislation. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, managing relationships professionally and sensitively, responding to queries and providing clear and practical advice. The role will also involve liaising with HMRC and third parties, preparing and filing P11Ds, administering payroll benefits in kind, and keeping up to date with changes in personal tax legislation and HMRC requirements.
What you will need to succeed
This opportunity would suit someone with previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice, who is comfortable managing their own workload while also supporting colleagues within a close‑knit team. You will be highly organised, able to plan effectively around deadlines, and confident delivering 'right first time' tax returns. A tax or accountancy qualification, or studying towards one, would be beneficial but is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a personal tax professional looking to join a values‑driven firm where technical quality, flexibility and long‑term development are genuinely encouraged.
What you will get in return
