Your new role

As a VAT Senior Manager, you will deliver VAT services to a wide range of clients including household names, multinational groups and fast‑paced privately-owned businesses. While strong UK VAT knowledge is essential, a significant portion of your work will involve collaborating across the firm's international network to support clients with global VAT issues.Your responsibilities will include:

* Acting as a key point of contact for your client portfolio, managing relationships and responding proactively to client needs.
* Taking full responsibility for the delivery of VAT advisory and compliance projects.
* Managing a portfolio that includes billing, cash collection and assignment planning.
* Reviewing work produced by junior team members and providing constructive feedback.
* Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
* Monitoring budgets, identifying overruns and ensuring compliance with internal quality control processes.
* Highlighting technical issues, risks and opportunities for additional services.
* Contributing to the management of the VAT group and supporting colleagues across the firm.
* Coaching, appraising and developing junior team members.
* Recognising and contributing to business development opportunities, including proposals and pitches.
* Building relationships with senior client stakeholders and collaborating with internal specialists to deliver integrated solutions.

This is a role with real scope to influence how VAT services are delivered, shape client relationships and contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice.

What you'll need to succeed

* Strong experience and understanding of UK VAT.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of key areas of VAT legislation and emerging focus points.
* Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio effectively.
* A proactive mindset with a desire to identify opportunities for additional work.
* Experience dealing directly with HMRC.
* Confidence engaging with senior client stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
