Your new company
This long‑established, highly respected independent accountancy practice is based on the beautiful Isle of Skye and supports a high‑quality portfolio of local and Scotland‑wide clients. The firm is known for its strong reputation, long‑standing client relationships, and hands‑on, personable approach. With continued growth and clear succession opportunities, this is an exciting time to join a stable, forward‑thinking business that values experience, community connection, and high‑quality technical work.
Your new role
As a Tax Manager, you will lead the firm's business tax offering, managing a varied portfolio of SME and owner‑managed business clients across a mix of industries. You'll take responsibility for reviewing corporation tax returns, advising clients on compliance and planning opportunities, and supporting more complex tax queries as they arise. The role offers scope to influence strategy, improve processes, and contribute to the long‑term development of the tax function. You will also provide guidance and support to colleagues, acting as a technical expert within the firm.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll bring strong experience in business tax within a practice environment and ideally hold a professional qualification such as CTA, ACCA, or CA, though equivalent experience will also be valued. You'll be confident operating at manager level, comfortable reviewing work, liaising directly with clients, and providing practical, commercially minded tax advice. Strong technical knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently will all contribute to your success. A proactive mindset and willingness to be part of a close‑knit, supportive team are key.
What you'll get in return
This role offers a rare blend of professional challenge and lifestyle opportunity. You'll join a respected local firm at a senior level with genuine potential for future progression and even long‑term leadership involvement. The firm offers a competitive salary, flexible working options, and the chance to work closely with a loyal client base that values your expertise. Whether you're based on Skye or elsewhere in Scotland, you'll enjoy a role with autonomy, impact, and long‑term stability in a beautiful and supportive community.
