Corporate Tax Manager - Leading National Accountancy & Advisory Firm

We are supporting a highly respected national audit, tax, and advisory firm with an impressive UK presence and strong international network. The firm continues to grow rapidly, particularly across its Reading tax practice, which has expanded by over 60% in recent years. Due to this ongoing growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their team and play a key role in delivering both compliance and advisory work.
This role will suit either an established Manager or a strong Assistant Manager ready for the next step, offering natural progression and exposure to high‑quality client work across a diverse portfolio.
The Opportunity
You'll work closely with senior tax leaders on UK and cross‑border advisory projects, while overseeing complex corporate tax compliance engagements. Clients range from owner‑managed businesses to listed groups across multiple sectors. You will also support business development initiatives and help expand the team's client offering.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery
* Lead UK and international corporate tax advisory projects.
* Oversee compliance for larger, more complex groups.
* Manage client relationships and develop new opportunities.
* Deliver solutions on matters such as group reorganisations, capital allowances, interest deductibility, and HMRC enquiries.
* Identify process improvements and make recommendations to clients.
Team Leadership
* Coach and mentor junior staff, providing on‑the‑job training and feedback.
* Support the development of the wider tax team through knowledge sharing.
* Contribute to internal projects, service line initiatives and firm‑wide activities.
Commercial & Risk Management
* Take responsibility for engagement financial performance.
* Assess and manage risk across all workstreams.
* Act with integrity and ensure high quality, timely delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
* ACA/CTA (or equivalent) qualified or HMRC TSP
* Significant experience across corporate tax advisory and compliance.
* Strong technical grasp of UK corporate tax and tax accounting concepts, including deferred tax.
* Demonstrated ability to develop new work and build strong client relationships.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data confidently.
* Experience managing and developing junior staff.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
